They're giving me $9,500 of that 20k to stay in this hellhole. So I guess $42,000 still sucks, but living somewhere pretty cool would have been $160,000 and somewhere nice would have been $220,000. I suppose I won't take it out on ASU, rather I'll say every other college sucks.

Wow, Nebraska FTW I guess.....
Tuition is around 5.5K (which is less than tuition for prep I might add

) and "Total estimated costs" (The worlds most smurf number) is around 17k for in-state.

Right, I tend to associate it with the city, since I've lived here my whole life.
I mean, I don't like Phoenix, but it's not even the second worst place in Arizona. It could be much worse. I could live in Salt Lake City, West Texas, anywhere in Idaho, the Deep South, Detroit...

I would rather live in Nebraska than anywhere in Arizona, hands down.
Why? Because in ten years I'll be fine, whereas the Arizonans on this board will have skin like leather (edit: Because you live in the desert, and there's nothing good about that), and if my theory that we will be living in a Mad Max-esque hellish landscape is correct, you'll also be attempting to gain entrance to better places like Wisconsin.
Hell even Iowa.
