Over here, they tend to just steal the parts that aren't locked down. People often just leave the denuded frames tied up until the university clears out the lot of them during summer.

To be fair, after a month of Theory last semester, I handed in about 5 of the assignments. We get assignments daily. I'm just trying to start this semester off right.

UC: My partner in Music Theory isn't going to do anything for our project. We have to present tomorrow. Part of our grade is how well we split up the work.
So the question is: Do I do everything and try to save myself? Or do just my portion? I hate this smurf.
Update: I just texted him asking when we're going to finish this stuff up. Long story short, he apparently didn't even know what piece we were presenting tomorrow. Our teacher has told us at least 10 times, sent us at least 5 emails about it, and it's on the assignment sheets. And we're in a class of FOUR SMURFING PEOPLE! HOW ARE YOU THAT DUMB?!?

AF: Stanley Tree will never know the true pressure from the 10 questions group collective super quiz relay format as he's babied by only having to answer 5 questions.

as a dude who had to do both (10 at state and 5 at nationals), 5 makes for WAY more intense pressure. missing one of ten is barely worse than missing a math question, missing one of five will destroy your score, hurt your team, and possibly lose you a national championship.

I just disliked how the questions weren't the same for each person, I liked the ten question format because everyone I was competing against was given the same questions.

At Memphis Nats, there was a question that came up along the lines of "which of these is related closest to humans?" The options were along the lines of
1. Squirrel
2. Cat
3. Chimpanzee
4. Tortoise
5. Dinosaur
Easy one, right? Well, the third varsities were up. They still managed to do well on it. After each question, they were putting on the projector a graph of how many responses each answer got. The "chimpanzee" column was, of course, enormous. In fact, it looked unanimous, for a moment. Then, one by one, we began to notice: someone had put dinosaur. One lone vote sat defiantly in the dinosaur column. I stared for a moment, then said: "smurf it, Mike." THe rest of my teammates shook their heads. There's no way Mike was that dumb, they assured me. Besides, he'd gotten the first four correct, he'd showed us through hand signals. I knew, though. It was Mike. He got back up to the team, grinning. "Guys, I put dinosaur."
We still managed to come in third.

Parents are often prone to harsh judgment of their children's (and generally, younger people's) moral standards. Sometimes they're right, sometimes not. Suggesting that your own mother "hates" you because she nags you to change your lifestyle - something that nearly all parents do - strikes me as about the most extreme overreaction possible on your part.
