PS: This semester... might help my GPA, a little. Depends on what I get in my last 3 classes to turn in grades, of course. If I get an A in chem (likely) and B+ in Russian and Econometrics, it'll help my grade a bit. If I get above that in either of those classes, it'll help my GPA a great deal. After all this smurf it's good to finally get a break.

UC: Last night I was itchy all over, then realized I was randomly breaking out at hives at random locations on my body. Most of those hives are gone, replaced with hives in different locations. Friend Alex thinks it might be my health collapsing now that finals are over. Mom thinks it could be a physical manifestation of the stress I've been fighting through. I do not know what it is.

However, I would appreciate it if it stopped. :\

I broke out in hives the other day. However, I'm inclined to blame it on the shoddy material my shirt was made out of.

RT: I really really really really really want to graduate already. Or at least fast forward to April 1..or even January.
AF: I cant sleep. But my jaws are dead. My face wont move right now and it feels weird.

HR: I got an A- in chem instead of an A after getting a freak bad grade on the last test. Smurf this semester.

UC: This semester, GPA-wise, now comes down to what I get in Econometrics. If I get an A, A-, B+ it's a salvagable semester. If I get a B, B-, C+... then my GPA is down a bit and I probably don't stand a chance of ever pulling my GPA that far out of the pit. It's a good thing I do not care about GPA too much, because this would be really smurfy if I did. It's unfortunate that I care at all.

From what I've heard, college GPA doesn't actually matter that much as long as it's decent - especially if you've gone to a high-end school like Duke (or Dartmouth). And from the grades you're mentioning, it sounds like yours is pretty decent.

If your GPA starts with a three, you're doing alright.

GPA really only matters if you're planning on applying to a grad school or something.

Otherwise, most jobs are more interested in seeing where or if you graduated at all. I mean, a 3.0 at say...Harvard is more impressive than say...a 3.5 at Cal State Northridge, right?

I guess. It's disappointing for someone who had 3 years of 4.0 in high school, though. Extremely disappointing.

I've seen people fall further. Much much further.

All things considered, you should be happy you survived that semester. That was like an unending horror story.

OCM: True. It was, and I'm happy I got through it.

Jonesy: Oh, shut up. A legitimate worry isn't "whining", and I am legitimately pissed off that I somehow managed to get a few points below the mark at which I'd have a straight A in the class on the final. My GPA isn't all that great for a guy who is graduating in 18 months and going to be trying to get a solid internship this summer. It isn't the end of the world that I have a 3.3, not at all, but it certainly doesn't help matters for me in the immediate future (even if it will be completely unimportant 18 months from now.) And after that last semester I'd appreciate it if I could minimize the number of avenues in which I give my life any excuses to put me in crummy situations in the immediate future, thank you very much.

EDIT: Also, incidentally, while I am not applying to grad school straight out of college... I kind of was thinking I might go back to school at some point later in life, depending on how things work out for me. I'm not too worried about the repercussions of my college GPA on that, though, as it will most likely be later enough in my life (if I do it at all) that my record at my jobs would be of far more relevance than my undergrad GPA. Correct me if I'm wrong tho...

EDITx2: B in Econometrics. Semester harmed my GPA a little, but not too terribly I guess. Oh well...

PS: So the professor gave out a study guide for this exam, and someone filled all the answers out and e-mailed it to everyone. That was nice of him.

UC: Reading through his study guide, it's apparent he doesn't understand Nietzsche at all.

PS: The fact that I can recognize that means I probably am doing pretty well.
