so what do you guys think about the final? should be good...but barca never scores much against english teams. the play there is too physical.
IMA ignore the lame Californians for this much more important question.
Man U has a sick nasty defense, and they're gonna do exactly what Chelsea did. Barca is going to need to start launching from outside the 18 to really have a chance in my mind. Also, Puyol and Marquez need to come back.

Protip: Don't be cheap with cigars, spending 4 dollars for a nice R&J or Cohiba is always better than picking up those craptastic machine rolled hunks of garbage from a gas station.
Of course being poor and in college (like most poor college students), celebrating with a cigar tends to be bi-yearly at best.
Sad panda.
I spent $6 on a Rocky Patel Lite.
Also, UC: I am now completely, utterly, and miserably, sick. Mostly from nerves from finals et al, but the cigar probably didn't help.

What do you think I'm doing?
debator
May 7 2009, 05:22 AM
puyol will be back; marquez won't. but i think pique's better at this point than marquez is.
barca cannot score from outside the 18, and every time they try, i cringe and comment how they threw the ball away. this will only get truer against van der sarr. their style is to slip eto'o, messi, or henry in behind the back four cleverly and slide one past the keeper one-on-one. they can do it against anyone, as long as that team is not parking the bus and not fouling the hell out of them. unfortunately, with vidic on defense, less physical is probably not gonna happen. (i HATE nemanja vidic. he is like my least favorite athlete.)
they are going to need to shut ronaldo down. valdez is cool and stuff, but he gets surprised too easily, and i can see ronaldo unleashing a 40 yarder like he did at porto. ronaldo's strong and fast, but he's not good at beating his man. keep a dude up in his grill whenever he has the ball and they should be ok on that front.
but more than anything, they need to unleash messi. the slip through simply doesn't happen otherwise. chelsea silenced him pretty well, admittedly. this cannot happen with man u, or barca will lose.

Oh, no, I notice that too. In this case, it helps that while I root for teams I have a statistician's penchant for analysis. I sort of keep a rough track in my mind in blown calls and I have yet to watch a game where the blown calls are statistically significant in favor of either team. So I tend to blame the team when they lose. The officiating is so bad it cancels itself out...

I think Rondo should have been suspended a game, as should Kobe now. Especially since they offed D-Wight last week... it's not like they are opposed to taking franchise players out. They just seem to be opposed to applying a reasonable, consistent standard.
