HR: I've suddenly become incredibly nervous, even terrified. I've rarely ever felt this nervous in my life. I feel like I'm about to throw up. Why? I have no idea whatsoever. I'm just sitting at my desk reading articles on ESPN, waiting for my first class. Why do I feel like this? How can I make it stop?

PS: Hey, my Bayesian methods teacher moved the HW due date to "after spring break" instead of "tonight".
PS: That's pretty cool since I hadn't uh started yet.
UC: ... wait, my other Stats teacher moved the methods problem set to... tomorrow morning?
HR: I uh. Also hadn't started yet. And I am reasonably sure I'm doing marginally worse in this class. Uhhh.
UC: Woke up just as dead today as I was yesterday -- got out of bed through willpower at least tho. Can't miss more class.

I recommend 5-hour energy. I usually don't do energy-anything, but this one seems to actually work, which surprised me. problem is, you know when it wears off, you suddenly feel just as tired as when you started, little disconcerting. I'm trying not to make this sound like a paid advertisement.
HR: I didn't wake up until 11:50-ish. I had class at 8:15, and eval with my flight commander at 10:15, and a class at 11:15, none of which I could afford to miss. smurf smurf smurf smurf smurf smurf smurf smurf fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

PS: So when my English GSI said that in lieu of our usual reading response for this week, we could write two original poems as long as we took it seriously, put a short explanation of the poem, and wrote about a significant formal feature of the poem, I may have gone a bit overboard. But I'm loving the way this one's turning out! I should have known that if I were to write poems, even if it were for an assignment, I wouldn't be able to rest until I were completely satisfied with them. Thankfully, I have plenty to muse over...

VERY HR: Realized I have my history section tomorrow. Looked it up and I have a 3-4 page rough draft paper due tomorrow. That I haven't even thought about. In addition to the two English poems, which are for credit. This is very very disturbing. Picked up a couple of 5-hour energies, and this will be a very very long night. Night all! If I allow myself another half an hour to finish the draft, another hour to finish the poem I already started, and two hours to work on the poem I have yet to do, I should be done about an hour before I have to leave for class. Enough time for breakfast and a quick revision? Who knows. I'm having a little trouble figuring out time/what the hell I'm doing. All I know is that from now on, I'll be paying attention to all my classes and when the hell things are due, because otherwise I'm going to die/fail out.

Is it possible that we're all just so tired atm that we're rendered completely incoherent?
Dr. Roffles
Mar 4 2010, 03:34 AM
Certainly possible. SO here is how things rolled a while ago.
"I'm gonna take an hour or two nap, get up, and beast some homework."
-five hours later-
"Yawnnn... wait what 9:50 uhhh goddamnit"
-gets up to grab computer-
"AAAUGHHH MY NECK WHAT"
for real though it feels like for all the time I was napping I was just sitting up and someone was karate chopping my neck. this is so painful. what in the hell. and it wasn't a bad position or anything, just head on the pillow. damnit.

Ugh, I know what you mean...I've had a really sore neck for a couple of days (not for the first time) and I'm not sure why.
Dr. Roffles
Mar 4 2010, 04:12 AM
Yeah, this almost feels like it's residual from the retreat this weekend, where I didn't have a pillow or blankets and thus slept on my brittle, hard-frame suitcase for a pillow with no blanket. Had massive neck pain every day. That had gone away tho, and this was a perfectly normal sleeping position...
iMatt
Mar 4 2010, 04:51 AM
Ah, to clarify, I assume since you're in therapy that the person was all "regulate your sleeping, no napping, no caffeine, no alcohol" etc.
Because that's standard stuff and such.
Also I'm pretty out of it, whatev!
UC: Research paper, midterm, and a 6 minute speech due next wednesday. yaaaaay
Dr. Roffles
Mar 4 2010, 05:01 AM
Oh haha. No, I haven't been told any of that, and I woulda laughed if she had said any of that. The caffeine was because a few weeks ago I had an all-nighter where I got wayyy too shaky because of the caffeine and I've been trying to avoid having much of it since then. Only had a few cans of coke last week, this week I've only had a few cans. Didn't know I "wasn't supposed" to nap and don't really care, it was pretty impossible for me to stay awake. I very rarely nap but sometimes it's necessary. So much for regular sleeping schedule tho. And I don't really drink so not much of a threat for that last one, ho ho ho.
PS: This isn't the worst stat assignment ever, it seems.
EDIT: also I really shouldn't be this tired after a 5 hour nap. :\

Surprisingly, after pulling an all-nighter last night, I'm feeling pretty damn good tonight. Probably has to do with the fact that there's no classes tomorrow because of the protest. I've lost count on what this one's about, but it's probably serious. Again. Hopefully no one lights dumpsters on fire this time. There's been so many protests and walkouts over tuition hikes and all that stuff ever since I got here, I don't really care anymore. After the first two or three of them you just kinda get apathetic. So it's a laundry and wheat thins and cheese and pjs and Muse and Lord of the Rings night!
