Hmm! I believe you should have heard from us with your login info - can you e-mail me and tom@demidec.com so we can make sure you're getting our messages?

Please contact tom@demidec.com if you're experiencing the site error - we have a new server this year which may be causing the trouble!

Is there an estimate for when it is supposed to be fixed?

Also, we have just set up the beta testing area of the forum and will be adding people to the beta testing group very soon. Monica will be managing this part of the forum, and will also be able to delegate authority for various tasks.

I have a rather odd request, I know that beta testers are supposed to be people who are actually competing, and I know people have to apply etc. However, I have to take chem this summer AND fall (plus Ochem in the spring probably) so I was wondering if I could lend a hand beta-ing any of those resources. I could use the review and I wouldn't mind doing whatever go-fer/grunt work needed.

Sounds like a possibility. Poke your head in again to remind us mid-summer when things are crazy.

I got the emails for the online beta testing program. Are beta testers for offline materials selected later? I had sent in an application for offline materials beta testing in early April.

If things are similar to how they were last year, they're one in the same. You'll be allowed to do online stuff at your leisure, and be assigned off-line projects.

Beta testing almost back up and running - a typo spotted in the code. Should be fully functional very soon.

Beta testing doesn't seem to be counting my comments after I score the test.
It counts my corrects and the error boxes I check, but not the comments I leave on individual questions.
I believe this is a problem.

I would like to be a part of the beta-testing too but no one from my school has ever beta tested...i don't even know how to sign up for it...can anyone enlighten me?

Don't worry, nobody from my school has either...or at least I know of. I know someone interned, but not beta tested. But I signed up by going to this website, and signing up. I got an email and now I'm testing.

That should be all there is to it, I believe. Anyone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

We typically don't have non-competitors beta test, in part because most non-competitors don't seem to have easy access to materials. Please don't take it personally.

Thank you, fellow older folks, for the interest in beta testing! Some of our strongest beta testers have been former Decathletes; last year's top-scoring beta tester, for example, Lawrence Lan, is a senior in college this year.

Our experience has been that many former Decathletes don't make it through the summer; they wander off because they don't need to learn the curriculum the same way that a returning Decathlete does. With that said, if you're really interested, we'd love to have you beta test - and hope you could match Lawrence's record!

Maybe we can reserve this area for more banter than troubleshooting? I plan on moving this thread to the beta testing (private) section of the forum in the coming weeks, so be sure to let me know if you're a beta tester and need to be added to the proper group.

Its because all tests were passed by at least 5 people.


I had AP Lang and Comp. Also I had to go to the ASU Commencement, It was pretty awesome.
