Anyone else feel like making french music video?

I like the music a lot. I've downloaded (legally) most of the tracks and put together a playlist. USAD is reusing at least three, maybe four, of the tracks from previous years. It's good stuff, though, from Mozart to Berlioz.

Mozart and Beethoven. Wow. USAD really went all out to create an awesome curriculum for this year!

This is going to be easily the best music curriculum since the classical music of 2005. *Suffers AD withdrawals*
I'm going to have to procure a copy of the CD and read at least some of the material.

I got Marriage of Figaro for the Classical music year, and I'm glad to have an excuse to watch it again. I love that opera!

I personally prefer watching The Magic Flute. It can be hilarious.

I'm attempting to listen to some of these tracks, yet I'm having some difficulty. I found about 7 of them in the itunes store. However that is where I had to stop, because I found nothing else, even with a thorough search of google and youtube. So I'm wondering where, if possible, you could find some of these tracks (such as an online store) that doesn't mean buying the CD's. I'm afraid my music collection doesn't go that far back, hah.

My class is actually listening to Mozart, Don Giovanni, Act I: "La Ci Darem La Mano" through the actual opera. It's interesting expect the subtitle is done really badly and nobody in the class understands italian.

The pieces are better than a lot that I have seen with past USAD choices. According to my coach, the Chinese opera sounded like someone slowly skinning a cat, the Civil War was not bad, the Mexico stuff were really bad copies of the song so it wasn't the pleasant to the ears.

Chinese opera description sounds about right.

This year's music is voluptuous.

I didn't compete that year, but my coach played it and it was snazzy.

OK, hate to dig here, but we are finally doing some listening now and find it really hard for our ears to distinguish between Chant de Neuf de Thermidor, Chant du Depart, and La Marseillese.

Is there any way your team is learning to distinguish between music excerpts?

The best we have so far is the prescence of trumpet in La Marseillese. (I mean any portion other than the first 20 seconds)

Any other ideas?

I try to listen to the words...it sometimes works.

I pick up on the tunes. But, yeah, when they're similar like that... meh.

You don't even really have to be able to understand it, just know what the words ARE, and it'll help.
